Catania, Sicilia, Italia

Via Etnea

Via Etnea

Living in Sicily was a love story and Catania was forever its Romeo. Rugged with repose, this coastal heaven is rich in history and well preserved of its cultural influence from past conquests. While serenity sings in the city’s winds, Catania maintains a contagiously positive energy. Aside from its natural beauty, the city holds a glamour of character as well, supporting liberality in its street style and a smile to all. Suits of white linen one minute and band tees the next. It was hard to come by the same eclecticism while living in northern Italy’s fashion core, Milan, where Sicily’s trends of nonconformism quickly vanished.

As from freshly baked Brioche, I face serious withdrawals, too, from Catania’s shopping scene. Centrally located along the city’s main street, Via Etnea, Catania’s commercial zone boasts countless shops, family-run establishments and boutiques of every kind to suit one’s fancy.

Unforgettableness – Beams of eternal sunshine, Granita with a lemon seltz, strolling endlessly through La Rinascente’s Design Supermarket, lax fashion
